Port Isaacs Fishermens Friends Special Edition - Release April 11th Single - No Hopers Jokers and Rogues Focus date April 25th At the start of this month Port Isaacs Fishermens Friends (PIFF) were featured in the BBC One programme Country Tracks which along with the announcement of their folk award saw the album rocket back up the Amazon Chart to 6 - which goes to show just how reactive this album is. As aforementioned PIFF received some fantastic industry recognition a few weeks back picking up the Good Tradition Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. This sees our merry men hauling in their fresh catch whilst singing a re-worked version of When the Boat Comes In - The ad can be viewed here (Its even got their named tagged on the start of the ad!!) httpwww.youtube.comwatch?vA393b2RCnbI Youngs have a very healthy 1.6million spend planned for the ad between now and release which will give PIFF massive national coverage. Following that Youngs will be freshening up the campaign with a 2nd ad that has another re-worked song by the boys. This will see a partnership between the band and St Austells award winning Tribute ale with the FFs playing a series of live shows for their sponsor and theyll be featured on the millions of bottles beers mats up and down the country. Aside from performing on their weekly Friday night shows down on the harbour side in Port Isaac the band are also playing regional theatres are set to play the Bristol Folk Festival and theyre confirmed for the main Pyramid stage at Glastonbury this year. TV appearances are coming in around the release of the special addition (April 11th) and we also have the fantastic hour long ITV1 documentary called Perspectives which tells the Fishermens story over the years. This is set to run out around the middle of April. Finally looking ahead Port Isaacs Fishermens Friends have landed their very own movie and book deal. Shooting for the movie starts during the summer with a provisional release planned for early next year. The book however is well under way and will be available in all major retailers (WH Smith Waterstones Supermarkets) in September. Heres to the year ahead.
