YEAH YEAH YEAHS are back back BACK, releasing the follow-up to 2006\u2019s \u201cShow Your Bones\u201d, an album described as \u201ca slow-burning masterpiece\u201d by Observer Music Monthly and \u201cone of the albums of the decade\u201d by NME.\r

In reaction to an early leak the digital release of the album was rushed forward to 9th March globally to try the effects of piracy. \u201cIt\u2019s Blitz!\u201d will be released physically on 6th April on Polydor, followed a week later by single \u201cZero\u201d - a huge, electronic dance-floor anthem of a song. NOTHING else feels like this right now. 'We've got a death grip on the adolescent way of feeling things,' says Karen O, touching on the track\u2019s euphoric abandon.\r

\u201cIt\u2019s Blitz!\u201d was recorded with Nick Launay (producer of YYY\u2019s 2007 released \u201cIs Is\u201d EP) and longtime collaborator TV On The Radio\u2019s Dave Sitek. The album sessions took the city dwelling band from the snow-covered fields of rural Massachusetts and Long View Studios, to Sitek\u2019s Staygold complex in Brooklyn before heading south to a studio in Tornillo in the Texan desert for further confinement and recording. \u201cIt's Blitz\u201d signals both a glance backward and a step forward for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Guitarist Nick Zinner had brought along an old keyboard he bought on eBay to work with during the writing session not expecting it to end up on the album. However, the sounds of the vintage Arp were so right for the new songs that they found their way into the atmospheric washes of 'Skeletons', the disco wiggles of 'Heads Will Roll', and New Wave melodrama of 'Soft Shock'. 'Obviously, synths have been in rock music forever,' Zinner says. 'But to us it feels new, which is all we really care about\u2014that excitement.' The whole record has a new feeling of space and atmosphere, a new sonic dimension, if you will.\r

The reaction to the record has been nothing short of phenomenal, with many appraising it as their career best. Q called it \u201cSpectacular\u201d and awarded it 5*, Time Out also awarded it 5*, with many other glowing reviews starting to come through across the board.\r

\u201cZero\u201d itself has been hailed an instant indie-dancefloor classic, with extensive club support, and playlist love already at Radio 1, XFM, 6Music. Zane Lowe on Radio 1 has awarded \u2018It\u2019s Blitz!\u2019 his Album Of The Week slot, and has confirmed a session with the band when they arrive for UK promotion from 3rd April.\r

Other promotion highlights already confirmed include the first show of the new Later With Jools Holland series, going out twice the week of the physical album release, and a Jonathan Ross Radio 2 session, with lots more still to come. The press coverage will be exhaustive, with an NME cover already running 10th March, and further high profile pieces due for The Guardian, The Sun, The Observer and much more besides, from the zine end of Artrocker and Plan B to style titles such as Vogue and Dazed.\r
